SHEA BUTTER
(Butyrospermum parkii)
Renowned for its excellent emollient properties and ability to help improve the barrier function of the skin, we source our shea butter from West Africa, where the pulp of the fruit is removed to reveal the kernel, which is boiled and dried in the sun before being shelled for pressing.
APRICOT KERNEL OIL
(Prunus armeniaca kernel oil)
Used for its lightweight silky texture, we source our apricot kernel oil from the Mediterranean. We use the fixed oil in our products which is high in essential fatty acids, particularly oleic acid, and vitamins A and E.
BORAGE SEED OIL
(Borago officinalis)
Renowned for its fantastic moisturising properties, we source our borage from England, where the pure, GLA-rich oil is pressed from the shiny, dark brown seeds of the bright blue flower.

Caused skin reaction
I received this as part of a Liz Earle gift box from my mum. Unfortunately it made my skin go red and feel like it was burning, and I had to wash it off straight away. Even after being washed off, my face is still irritated and red - the opposite of what I wanted from a moisturising mask. This happened with a Liz Earle night cream earlier in the year, though I've used other Liz Earle products regularly for years without problems, and wouldn't describe myself as having highly sensitive skin. These experiences make me really reluctant to try new Liz Earle products. It seems that other people have had this issue and think it may be related to fragrance. Please review the ingredients in these products!

Why isn’t all your containers recyclable, I’m annoyed I’ve got to put it in a landfill . And are you doing something about this it’s no good having your products vegan and natural if at the end it’s can’t be recycled.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with our packaging. However, we can confirm that our packs are made form either post-consumer recycled plastic, glass or, aluminum, which are recyclable materials.
Whilst we can confirm that our formulations are suitable for vegetarians, in some formulations we have harnessed the naturally active properties of beeswax, propolis, Manuka honey and organic black bee honey which are harvested as by-products from the honey industry - so we are unable to say that our botanical range is suitable for vegans. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

Do I use a moisturiser after I rinse off the mask?

Once the Hydrating Cream Mask is removed from the skin, we would recommend applying your 'leave on' products, such as a skin tonic, serum and your chosen moisturiser.

Can this mask be used ever night?
If you have very dry skin I’m sure that your skin would appreciate this every night. Personally I find two or three times a week is perfect. Apply a thin layer and leave to soak in.

I have this mask, haven't got round to using it yet... I would like to know can you use it as a moisturiser or only as a mask treatment?

Our Hydrating Cream Mask contains a blend of botanicals that leave skin feeling smooth and nourished. This is designed to be left on the skin for no longer that 10 minutes, so we would not recommend using this as a moisturiser. The thick consistency will also sit on the surface of the skin, as this has not been designed to be absorbed, so not suitable for use as a moisturiser. If you are looking for a moisturiser that will help to boots hydration, you may wish to consider our Skin Repair Hydrating Night Cream. This formulation contains ingredients that help to lock moisture into the skin whilst you sleep.

Can you use the Hydrating cream mask on your hands and does the mask feel warm on your skin when used on the face

Our Hydrating Cream Mask has only been tested for use on the face, so you may not achieve the same results if used on the hands. This should not feel warn on your skin, if this does, it could mean that the product is unsuitable for you, or has been left on the face for longer than the advised period. Is it best to leave on your skin overnight to do its work or rinse off and tone and moisturise as you would normally do?

As our Hydrating Cream Mask is not an overnight mask, it has not been tested for this purpose, so we would not recommend leaving this on overnight.
However, we do have our CICA Restore Skin Paste which is a nourishing and intensely hydrating overnight mask. The ingredient 'CICA' also helps to improve imperfections whilst you sleep.
