Who we are
Our story begins in 1995 when co-founders Liz Earle, an author and botanical beauty authority, and Kim Buckland, a skincare industry expert, united in their quest to find beauty that would suit their different skin types. Frustrated with the skincare available, they decided to create their own. While Liz and Kim are no longer part of Liz Earle Beauty Co., we continue to uphold the principles they set out from day one.
A star is born
One of the first products created, and now a bona fide skincare icon and winner of over 130 awards in the UK – Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser was our real eureka moment. One of the first two-phase cleansers of its kind and unlike anything that the industry had ever seen before, this revolutionary product continues to deliver great results for all ages and skin types.
Inspired by nature
We have always believed in the potent power of naturally active ingredients and were among the first to make sourcing botanicals for their unique efficacy a priority. We are committed to building relationships with our growers and farmers, not only to ensure the quality of our precious ingredients, but also to monitor our impact on the environment, the community and fair working conditions.
Taking responsibility
We’re passionate about responsible sourcing. Our formulation and sourcing experts balance factors such as performance, sustainability and continuity of supply to determine the best source for us to use. We recognise our environmental impact and strive to reduce this wherever possible, considering everything from our packaging to the impact of our island HQ.
No animal testing
Liz Earle Beauty Co. believes that beauty and household products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.

After growing Liz Earle Beauty Co. into the brand you know and love, Liz and Kim left the business when the company was sold to Avon in 2010. Since 2015, we have been owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance. With their full support of our founding philosophy and responsible practices, we are now able to share radiant results and skin confidence with more women across the globe than ever before.
